How can you fight winter depression?

Autumn is a lovely season and many of us simply love it. But as days go shorter and colder, many people experience mood swings, sadness, melancholy, often leading to depression. While there is not much you can do about the weather, there are things you can do to make yourself feel better!

Yoga is one of the best antidepressants. Feelings of loneliness and depression often go hand in hand. Social connections are a great way to alleviate those feelings and heading to a yoga class is a great way to start, because yoga helps form bonds and build community. It helps you fall back in love with yourself. By being around and connecting with other people, you begin to cope with your problems.

When you are not feeling ok, stress can be extremely hard to manage. But breathing and moving in a yoga class can gradually and significantly lower the stess levels. Release and let go.

Yoga makes you keep moving forward. When you experience bad or stresful situation, all you want to do is sit there and wait for it to go away. It does not work like that, you have to keep going and yoga definitely teaches you that.
