Why do you need to include this superfood in your diet now?

Açaí berries come from açaí palm, a tree native to Brazil and northern part of South America, found mostly in the rainforests of the Amazon. For centuries açaí has been considered a very important healing fruit with many energy – boosting and immune – stimulating properties. What are its main benefits and why is it worth adding it to our diet?

Antioxidants are natural or man – made) substances that prevent or delay certain types of cell damage. Foods that are high in antioxidants are extremely important and should have a secure place in our lives. Luckily for us, açaí berries are one of those! They are very high in anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant that can well support and balance cholesterol levels and slow down the aging process, as well as plant sterols that support circulation and relax our blood vessels. The berries contain a decent amount of fiber, and are considered a natural digestive cleanser, helping both the liver and kidneys remove waste and toxins from our body.

Eating plenty of foods with antioxidants is a great and a natural way to improve our focus and our memory. Oxidative stress, and inflammation that comes with it, are a major cause of cognitive problems, such as dementia, memory loss or even mental disorders. Açaí pulp seems to have very beneficial and protective effects over brain cells, turning off inflammatory pathways that can damage nerve signals in the brain, stimulating mental functions and helping with clear thinking and maintaining high energy levels.
